Dr. Alexis Demetrious
Dr. Alexis Demetrious is a Wilmington NC native. She has a passion and love for helping others. Dr. Alexis has been under chiropractic care since she was in the womb! She was adjusted by Dr. Larry Webster who is the founder of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) at birth, and then her Dad, Dr. Greg Demetrious. She believes in the body’s ability to heal from above, down, inside and out. A favorite chiropractic quote of hers is from the developer of chiropractic, Dr. BJ Palmer: “The Big Idea” which you can read in the office. She has had the privilege of learning chiropractic technique and philosophy from Dr. Greg Demetrious, Dr. Karen Ferguson, Dr. Drew Rubin, Dr. Jay Komarek, and many more!
Dr. Alexis’ goal is to provide a safe and loving environment for people’s and animal’s innate healing to create a greater future. By removing subluxations and interference of the nervous system, we can have a healthier functioning community. Our bodies are one functional unit, although we tend to view it as separate pieces, all of our systems are constantly being integrated by every nerve exiting and entering our brains! If our connection from our brain to our body, and vice versa has interference we cannot adapt to the daily stresses of life whether those stresses are from physical trauma at birth, environmental, and/or emotional. Which is why chiropractic care is valuable for living a happy and healthy life!
As a female chiropractor, Dr. Alexis loves connecting with women going through the unique changes of life such as pregnancy and motherhood. She utilizes a multitude of techniques for individualized care. She is trained in Webster technique for pregnant women aiding in proper alignment of the pelvis to allow for optimal space for baby’s development. Dr. Alexis adjusts manually, and uses Thompson drop technique, instrument-based adjusting, Logan, KST, and cranial balancing.She is currently completing the certified chiropractic extremity practitioner course. Dr. Alexis is excited to practice adjusting animals too!
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Demetrious enjoys time spent with her family and friends, going on new adventures with Dr. Gowing, relaxing at the beach, exercising at the gym, and spending time with her fur babies Albert, Bennett, and Nala.
