What Should You Expect on Your First Visit With Us?
At our chiropractic center our examination procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation". The procedures we use are specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health. There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit at our clinic.
Our examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes Thermographic Nerve System assessment, High Precision X-ray to determine the alignment of your spine, Palpation by hand to assess for “Tone” and Chiropractic Leg Length Differential Checks. These checks are used to detect Subluxation.
The Thermographic part of this examination process involves reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other. Heat is a byproduct of circulation, which is directly controlled by the nervous system. With this test we can see if Subluxation is present and causing dis-ease.
Our Laser Aligned X-ray system is among the best Chiropractic X-ray system in use today. When we are determining the mal-alignment of the upper two vertebra it is critical to be as precise as possible to allow for the most appropriate correction.
Dr. DD Palmer, the founder of Chiropractic, emphasized the importance of “Tone” and the Chiropractic assessment via palpation is used to assess poor tone of muscle function which is often a reflection of the nerve system not functioning properly.
Finally, Leg Length Differential Checks are used to assess for the presence of Subluxation. Most people have two legs of identical length but when someone is Subluxated the nervous system being out of balance will cause one leg to be functionally shorter than the other.
It is important to note that this examination helps us scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your body. It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. Using these examination procedures is much more accurate than just depending on "how you feel" on any given day.
It is at the Orientation/Report of Findings that we will give you a care plan and go over any special instructions you will need to obtain the best and fastest possible results. We have set aside specific times for these visits so as not to interfere with regular patient care hours. Our staff will schedule your Report of Findings with you after your first visit.
